On October 7, in Hanoi, Orsted Group and T&T Group jointly organized a seminar on Vietnam’s offshore wind power supply chain for high potential domestic suppliers of foundation structures and services mechanical engineering.

The event is part of a series of activities and practical workshops for suppliers to identify challenges and develop solutions to enter the supply chain for Vietnam’s offshore wind industry.

Mr. Per Mejnert Kristensen, President of Ørsted Asia Pacific, said: “Vietnam has excellent conditions for developing reliable and cost-competitive offshore wind power projects. Orsted is always ready to build solid and trusted relationships with companies, suppliers, stakeholders and the Government of Vietnam to realize these ambitions. We are ready to support Vietnamese companies in their journey to optimize the huge opportunities of the domestic and international offshore wind market.

Experts and panelists came together to identify challenges and propose practical solutions to support new companies entering the offshore wind industry. Key topics include: how to strengthen the provision of infrastructure, facilities; improve the availability of lifting and construction equipment; develop technical capabilities and production management processes to help build world-class offshore wind farms in the years to come.

Taking another step towards successfully launching a new domestic industry to support Vietnam’s net zero emissions target by 2050, Orsted Group and CS Wind Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on on October 6, set the goal of cooperation in developing the offshore wind power supply chain in Vietnam, including but not limited to the scope of wind towers, offshore foundation structures, steel fabrication…
