Marine EC Bend Restrictor is attached to the pipeline or cable during deployment with some easy and quick steps. It comprises a number of interlocking elements which form a smooth curve locking radius.
Bend restrictors prevent over-bending at the interface between flexible flowlines/umbilicals/cables and rigid structures by mechanically locking up.
They are normally used in static applications but, unlike bend stiffeners, only provide protection once the pipe has achieved the desired bend radius between the flexible line and rigid structures such as wellhead connections, J-tube exits, rigid pipe crossovers, and PLET connections.
Polymer material is suitable to deliver safe protection to high mechanical bending stresses and basic cable protection to any fallen object that may hit cables in platform vicinity. Moreover, the product ensures anti-corrosion requirements in the marine environment.
Our bend restrictor is designed in yellow which increases visibility into water. Design in elements allows the proper dimensioning of the necessary protection length according to specific requirements.
We are able to offer either a bespoke design or make use of a vast array of existing designs of bending restrictor elements to suit a wide range of pipes, umbilicals and cables. We are also able to design and manufacture the steel interface structure required.
